The Water Petal Shuttle the transport of the 21st Century.

The first thing that you will notice when boarding a Water Petal Shuttle is the absence of the usual smells associated with today’s trains and trams.

As you step up from the pavement the second thing that you will notice when entering the Water Petal Shuttle is that the interior is warm or cool as needed and well ventilated to suit the day’s temperature. No more stuffy hot airless compartments.

When you sit down on the seat you will notice that it is comfortable and every window seat has a window that can be opened or closed at will for fresh air if wanted. No more hermitically sealed air conditioned, if its working, compartments that are stuffy and smelly.

As you pull away in the Shuttle you will notice the absolute quietness of the journey.

Because noise is pollution we keep the noise down to a minimum. Smells also pollution are reduced and eliminated.

No more track noises as we do not use or need a track and no more of the smells of overheated brake pads or electrical ozone.

The Water Petal Shuttle runs along the same roads you drive on or it can be installed along and replace existing tracks used by today’s trains.

The households adjacent to train lines that are today affected by the noise and vibration of passing trains will also benefit from the silent vibration free passage of a Water Petal Shuttle.

What is a Water Petal Shuttle?

How does it work?

A Water Petal Shuttle is propelled along the roads surface by the kinetic energy of water travelling inside a pipe.

This pipe is configured and manufactured to allow a Low Friction Compression Zip Seal to be included in the construction of the pipe. This pipe is lined internally with a plastic coating or materials that offer minimal resistance to water flow.

Unlike a traditional zip this seal expands and contracts as the Petal Propulsion Apparatus is pushed along by the water flow. It has no interlocking teeth because it is a compression seal that retains the water within the pipe. The opening and closing of this seal is accomplished with a Stem Keel that is the connection between the Petal Apparatus and the Shuttle.

As the Petal Apparatus opens like an underwater sail inside the pipe the flow of water pushes it along. As the Stem Keel is attached to the Petal Apparatus and also connected to the Shuttle we travel along at the speed of the water flowing within the pipe.

If the water is flowing at 60 km the Shuttle moves along the surface at the same speed. By adjusting the petals we can adjust our speed infinitely from standing still to 60km.

To stop the Water Petal Shuttle we open the Petals to allow the water uninterrupted flow and we brake the Shuttle to a stop at the next station.

In traditional trains the momentum and inertia of a travelling train means that the braking system has to be of necessity larger and more powerful to bring the train or tram to a stop.

As we only need a light chassis to contain the passengers and lighter wheels and axles with no heavy electric motors to propel the train or tram we are able to reduce the weight of the Shuttle and therefore reduce the size of the braking equipment as there is less inertia. This means that in the event of an emergency we can stop far quicker than a conventional train or tram in a shorter distance.

When a Water Petal Shuttle replaces a train line all the overhead gantries, cables and lines are removed and recycled. As we do so we also help the environment as we no longer require coal fired power stations to supply any power. This reduces the amount of emissions produced. We do not require the power and the 20% electrical power that is currently lost just to get the power to the trains is also removed.

The zip pipe is buried below the road surface so just the compression seal is showing and that is level with the surface of the road. As it is centred relative to the wheel tracks, vehicles do not run along it but straddle it and they can of course cross it at any time with no problem.

This means that normal vehicles can still use the road surface when a Shuttle is not using it.

Carried on pneumatic tyres the Shuttle is silent and vibration free as it travels along the road.

One very important safety feature of this transportation is that the Shuttle cannot jump the rails and derail as conventional trains often do causing passengers to be killed and injured. Nor is there any danger from overhead live wires.

The Zip Pipe is constructed in a circuit so that the flowing water is constantly propelled in one direction with a “U” turn at each end of a loop so we have the capability to get you there and back on the one line.

We can for example have a Zip Pipe laid so it is 5 Km long in each direction.

With a pipe diameter of 2m we have in this instance the power energy of 31,420 metric tons of water travelling at 60 Km. This is the power available to each Water Petal Shuttle as it travels along the road.

As lines increase in length we increase the kinetic energy available to propel our Shuttles as we have effectively created a liquid flywheel whose speed is maintained by using quite a small power source.

We take all our water requirements from recycled sewage water that is presently disposed of to ocean outfalls or is partially treated and returned to a river system. This water when it enters our line will be of potable quality meaning that it can be used as household drinking water. This being the case there is no reason why this water cannot be used to provide water to households thereby combining household water and commuter transport into one system. In fact once the system is full of water the excess water can be used to replenish the water that is taken from dams in the first instance or is used for agricultural benefits for the production of feed and crops. See water recycling.

In effect we use all the water presently partially treated and use it not only to propel our Shuttles but we eventually would use this water for many domestic and commercial purposes.

It’s our business to provide you the householder with unlimited clean clear drinking water.

Another very important safety feature is we place as standard into our lines Hydrants for fire fighting purposes.

We know that commuter trains in many cities travel considerable distances into the suburbs and country and the availability of practically unlimited water to these areas in the event of bushfires would be of benefit to the residents. The ribbon development around lines would be far better protected when a fire season or drought affects the communities that sit next to the bush.

It’s our business to provide households that live close to our line and next to the bush with unlimited water for fire fighting needs to protect your family, home and property.

When the construction of a Zip Pipe is carried out we first ascertain how many propulsion units are placed into the circuit to maintain water flow. For example we place more units closer together when pumping uphill and fewer when travelling along the flat. These maintain a constant flow.

As we extend the line further out to the suburbs we retain the U turns in each section and add another circuit that also has the same water flow speed to make a circuit that is 10 km out and 10 km back doubling the energy available to move the Shuttles.

We can add as many extension loops that are connected to each other, as we want, as we require them.

This means that as suburbs spread the Shuttle lines reach out to offer a reliable silent clean transportation system that gets you the commuter to your destination and back home on time all day every day.

Each section can be isolated and the remaining sections continue to operate as normal. For example if pipe repair work or an accident requires the shutting down of a section we U turn the Shuttles at both ends of the shut section and ferry by bus the commuters between and across the distance to the next section on the line. This has one very important advantage over today’s existing train lines. In the event of the closure of one section of line the whole system is not shut down causing chaos and havoc to you the travelling public.

When the line is reopened if the water flow has been slowed or stopped to undertake the work involved that section of line is brought up to the same speed as previously before it is re-connected to the main line. Each loop is self contained with its own power supply.

Another feature of this system is that we can change lines so the Shuttle can start in a slow line and change lines to faster ones or vice versa. We can for instance have three lines all at different flow speeds and the Shuttle can use all three during the course of a journey

The power supply to pump and move the water through the pipes is obtained by X or Y block Hydrogen Gas Piston Engines that also self generate most of their own fuel. See Engine Division.

This power is then used to maintain water flow which is achieved with one version of Matter Propulsion. See Matter Propulsion.

This basic system can be constructed in various diameters of line depending on the passenger carrying requirements of a district or suburb.

It can for instance be installed as a single loop that takes commuters to the Main line where they catch another Shuttle to take them too and from the city centre and beyond or move shoppers around a shopping district.

We can of course add additional Shuttles into the line as passenger numbers increase so we move more people during and through the rush hour.  We can have Shuttles spaced by five, ten, twenty minute intervals or as need requires. We have the flexibility to put in service any number of Shuttles at any time to cater for special events and occasions.

It becomes a question of where and when you the customer want the convenience of a silent reliable on time public transport system.

High Speed Shuttle

Using the principles of Matter Propulsion we are able to offer the travelling public another version of the Water Shuttle that goes faster than the flow of the water in the line.

This High Speed Shuttle is capable of acceleration and travelling faster than the water flow in the Zip Pipe.

We achieve this by installing an X or Y Block Hydrogen Engine mounted on the Shuttle and connected through the Stem Keel to the Petal apparatus. The Petal apparatus becomes the safety back up if for any reason the engine should fail to enable the shuttle to continue its journey to a depot where it can be repaired. The worst case scenario here is that you would arrive slightly later than anticipated but you the passenger would not be stuck and unable to travel any further.

Because these engines are more powerful, smoother in operation with less vibration and much quieter than traditional engines they propel the Shuttle along the pipe faster than the standard water flow.

This means that they become the Express Shuttle to and from any destination as they pass any Water Petal Shuttle as it embarks and disembarks passengers at a station stop.

The Amphibious Shuttle

For cities that are built around harbours or lakes where traditional ferries operate we have one other Shuttle that we believe the travelling public will enjoy.

This is the Amphibious High Speed Shuttle and this is capable of crossing harbours without passengers having to disembark.

Because the propulsion of the Shuttle takes place within the line and the propulsion operates in water we merely make the Shuttle water tight so it becomes amphibious.

When arriving and stopping at the waters edge the Shuttle is passed through a water lock that separates the line water from the harbour water. Once this has happened we open the lock to the open water and motor across the harbour to the other side where we enter another lock that empties the harbour water, sterilizes the propulsion unit so no harbour water that may be contaminated enters the line and continues the journey on the other side until it returns to retrace the whole trip back. We are able to do this as the Shuttle is far lighter than traditional trams and trains.

There is another feature that occurs within the line when a large number of express Shuttles are operating within a loop. As they accelerate along the Zip line there is a pressure wave formed in front of the Shuttle Propulsion unit. This constant pressure accelerates the water flow within the pipeline as it is continually moving forward far longer that when it is stopped to pick up or deposit passengers. This water acceleration is not wasted as we place into the line an electrical power generation unit that operates to bring the flow back to its normal speed.

The power generation can be utilised for normal use or it can be used to generate more fuel for the X and Y block engines used to power the system. See Power Generation
